Bio for Pastor Isaac Chua

Isaac is originally from the tiny country of Singapore located in Southeast Asia. He grew up there till the age of 21 when he came over to the United States for college. Both of Isaac’s parents are Methodist pastors and were influential to his journey into full-time ministry as well. He has one younger brother who is currently doing youth ministry in Singapore.
 
Isaac arrived in Winfield, KS in 2008 to study Philosophy and Religion at Southwestern College. It was during the later part of the college years that he met his lovely wife-to-be, Anna. After graduating from college in December of 2011, Isaac applied to Asbury Theological Seminary to study Master of Divinity to prepare for pastoral ministry. Isaac and Anna were married in August of 2013 and they spent three years together in Kentucky for seminary. Isaac graduated in May of 2016 with the MDiv. During seminary, Isaac began the ordination process through the Great Plains Conference, and upon graduation, was commissioned as a Provisional Elder in the United Methodist Church.
 
Isaac received his first appointment as an Associate Pastor at Woodlawn UMC in Derby, KS, where he served for 2 years from 2016-2018. Isaac was ordained as a Full Elder in 2018, and he was appointed to pastor 2 churches, Laurel and Logan Center UMC, in Northeast Nebraska. He served there for 2 years from 2018-2020. In July of 2020, Isaac began his third appointment at First UMC in Wellington, KS. Isaac enjoys playing music, mainly the guitar and the piano, likes to watch soccer, play table-tennis, and spend time with his family.
